The film was an amazing journey! The actress admired me a lot! Her story is really remarkable. I’ve got incredible and unforgettable emotions! If you want to get into Russian atmosphere, so make some tea and watch the “Karenina and I” film. I know it will be useful!

A few days earlier, I was able to attend the screening of the film “Karenina and Me” and personally meet with the actors who took part in the filming. This film made a huge impression on me and made me experience a storm of previously unfamiliar emotions from grief to admiration. The actress, who played the main role, committed an incredibly bold act and crossed the whole of Russia by train, to plunge into the atmosphere of our country, to understand the Russian soul and, in particular, the soul of Karenina, which she was to play in the play. For me, it is a vivid example of willpower, depth of soul, and emotionality. During the show, a special atmosphere reigned in the hall, the feeling of the presence of many foreign guests and journalists, whose work I sincerely admire, gave a festive mood. The film “Karenina and Me”, which revealed to me the dark side of cinema, showed that the work of an actor is not only fun, fans, money and the red carpet, but also terrible work, both physical and moral, requiring one hundred percent to give all of oneself .

I went to the screening of “Karenina and I”. The film is about the star of the Norwegian theatre Gerild Mouset who set to herself an almost impossible task: to play the role of Anna Karenina in Russian language. She went on a trip to Tolstoy’s homeland to learn the language and immerse herself in the world of the writer. Gerild had no idea how much Anna Karenina’s role would change her life. After watching the film, I was able to communicate with the producer, the main character of the film and their son. They talked about the ideas and challenges they faced while making the film. I really appreciate actors. I also like the way how the film was made. I think everyone should watch this film and read the book.

Last Sunday I watched the film in English, entitled “On the tightrope”, dedicated to work of the world-famous French director Peter Brook. This documentary was in English with Russian subtitles. I especially liked that some phrases were in French with English subtitles (as I’m learning French). It was shot by the director’s son Simon Brook, who we had an interview with after watching the film. We asked our questions and shared our impressions and comments.

This documentary deals with the rehearsal process of Peter Brook’s, with his techniques and tiptops. Some mystical moments that struck me were when Peter reacted to some facial expressions og actors without looking at them, as if he had some supernatural abilities. The film is deeply philosophical, as some thoughts concerning the actors’ exercises can be referred to the whole life of all people. It helps appreciate every moment of our lives. Not waste our time.

I watched the film together with the students of 11A class. The 6 girls were impressed by the film and the interview, though they were too shy to take an active part in the discussion. In addition they were a bit disappointed that the film was a documentary, not a feature film. But they paid all the attention and it was worth doing.
